As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s essential to highlight the contributions of women in STEM, like Grace Stanke, a nuclear engineer at Constellation with five years in the industry. Stanke is passionate about clean energy—not just for its role in reducing carbon emissions, but for its importance in ensuring a reliable power grid as electricity demands rise.

Through her work in nuclear power, she has contributed to refueling outages and core design processes, playing a role in providing 20% of the nation’s electricity. Her passion for nuclear energy was sparked in college, driven by its applications in medicine and agriculture, as well as its clean energy potential.

Stanke advocates for investment in clean energy jobs, stressing that innovation in the sector requires more talent and support. “We need nuclear plus renewables,” she says, underscoring the necessity of a balanced energy approach.
