Anthony Koga is a branch manager at Freedom Forever, overseeing the installation and service of solar projects. With over 4 years of experience in the clean energy industry, Anthony has seen firsthand the growth and impact of this vital sector.

Anthony’s journey into clean energy began after working in the battery industry, where he gained valuable technical skills that translated seamlessly into the solar field. “There’s a lot of parallel between the two,” Anthony explains. “Once I started solar, it really gave me a jumpstart because I had a better understanding of the technology.”

Beyond his technical expertise, Anthony is driven by a deeper purpose – leaving a better world for his four children. Anthony believes that adapting to renewable energy is key for the United States to maintain its global economic leadership, criticizing the outdated infrastructure of traditional energy methods.

In his role as a branch manager, Anthony finds the most rewarding aspect to be helping customers navigate the complex process of switching to solar. “A lot of times it’s the second biggest purchase in their lifetime, besides their home. So making sure that they get to the finish line and have a really good understanding of their system, that’s what really kind of keeps me going.”

Anthony’s experience also extends to large-scale, off-grid solar projects, where he has overseen the integration of PV installations and battery storage. However, he is equally passionate about supporting the next generation of clean energy workers, taking pride in helping new recruits with little to no experience get their start in the industry.

“Whether they’re coming into an office role or a field role, we have entry-level positions between permitting and inspections,” Anthony explains. “I take a lot of pride in helping coach people on their career growth path with training.”
