Brian Chen, Vice President of Sales – Energy & Infrastructure at Stewart Title, is no stranger to the evolving landscape of American energy. After spending part of his career in oil and gas, Chen made a pivotal transition to the clean energy sector—a move he believes is not only professionally rewarding but crucial for the country’s future.

“The question should be: why shouldn’t we invest in clean energy jobs?” Chen asserts. “This industry gives meaningful careers to hundreds of thousands of Americans. They are the backbone of America—and whether people like it or not, clean energy is the future.”

With a decade of experience now in clean energy—including work in wind, solar, energy storage, and data centers—Chen’s career reflects the growth and dynamism of an industry central to both climate and economic resilience.

Today at Stewart Title, Chen plays a vital role in making renewable energy projects happen, especially when others say they can’t. “With my role now, it is the ability to make projects work that may not have. That is my mission at Stewart. When others say no, we try to find a way.”

For Chen, clean energy is about more than powering homes—it’s about powering independence. “The need for electricity is ever increasing. With this demand, the easiest and quickest way to meet it is through clean energy. Not only is it protecting our planet, but it is a key piece to our need to be energy independent. American energy is clean energy.”

His home state of Texas stands as a testament to this growth. It is already the nation’s top wind-producing state, and according to Chen, solar and energy storage are quickly gaining momentum, providing jobs and a strong economic base. “Renewable projects have created not only jobs but have funded or helped fund new/upgraded schools, after-school programs, roads, and other key community infrastructure.”

America’s historical role as a global leader in technology and industry is something Chen takes pride in—and he warns that inaction could cost the country dearly. “If we sit on the sidelines, we will be behind the curve. An investment in clean energy is an investment in our future for generations.”

Chen’s journey from fossil fuels to renewables mirrors a national shift—and his message is clear: clean energy isn’t just an environmental necessity, it’s a patriotic and economic one too.
