96% of New U.S. Power Carbon-Free

In 2024, 96% of new U.S. power capacity came from clean energy sources like solar, wind, and batteries. Solar led with 34 gigawatts installed, a 74% jump from 2023. Battery storage nearly doubled to 13 gigawatts. The grid is steadily shifting toward a cleaner energy future.

Texas Leads U.S. in Clean Energy Boom

Texas is the nation’s clean energy leader, with 42 gigawatts of wind, 22 gigawatts of solar, and 6.5 gigawatts of battery storage by the end of 2024. Since 2019, solar capacity has surged 800%, and battery storage skyrocketed 5,500%. With renewables providing 30% of Texas’ power, the state is proving clean energy is big business.
